Infrastructure/Indico/Speaker Uploads

From UKNOF

UKNOF uses the "Indico" open-source conference management system, which handles speaker presentation uploads.

Details of the venue location, draft agenda, and accommodation options are available on the meeting web page at:

       http://indico.uknof.org.uk/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=27

If you do not already have an account on our Indico system, you should receive an e-mail inviting you to create one. Please can you enable this, and familiarise yourself with Indico in advance of the submission deadline.

You can then upload your presentation by going to the "Contribution List" on Indico:

       http://indico.uknof.org.uk/contributionListDisplay.py?confId=27

Click on the talk title against your name, and you will then see an "Add Material" link - clicking on this will give you a dialogue box to upload your slides.

PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR PRESENTATION IN AT LEAST PDF FORMAT, COPIES IN OTHER FORMATS INCLUDING ODP AND PPT ARE ALSO OKAY.

All slide uploads will be copied to the presenter laptop (most likely a Mac), which should be able to display most slide file formats including animations natively.

This preparation will allow us to smoothly run all the presentations off a single laptop, and ensure your slides are visible remotely.

We will be webcasting the meeting, which will be recorded for UKNOF's public video archive. We do this via a application that runs on the presenter PC which creates a split-screen video feed of you as presenter and the current displayed slide.

Please ask for help in the break before your talk if you are not familiar with how to use the presenter laptop. Use of other laptops means remote participants will be unable to see your slides.

Note there may be remote participant questions via IRC.

It would be helpful if you could e-mail me to let me know once you have uploaded your slides successfully, or please e-mail <indico@uknof.org.uk> if you need help.

Please also use your Indico login to register for the meeting and confirm your attendance, talk title, and affiliation if you did not already do so.
